Danielle Akta is an Israeli-born cellist based in Berlin. From an early age, she has performed internationally as a soloist with renowned orchestras such as the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Georgia Philharmonic, and Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, alongside conductors like Daniel Barenboim, Daniel Ettinger, Vladimir Spivakov, and Julian Rachlin, and in prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, Teatro Colón, Roy Thomson Hall, and Chicago Symphony Center. Recognized as one of the leading cellists of her generation, Danielle was named among the Top 10 Classical Performers by the Daily Gazette and received a Critic’s Choice mention from the Times Union. In 2016, she was awarded the Oleg Yankovsky Prize for Artistic Discovery and has been a recipient of America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships since 2013. She studied with Prof. Frans Helmerson at the Barenboim-Said Akademie. She plays an Enrico Orselli cello, crafted in Pesaro around 1925.
Dr. Lindsay Garritson is an internationally acclaimed pianist who has performed since the age of four. She has appeared at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and Place des Arts in Montreal, and has soloed with orchestras such as the Phoenix Symphony, Orchestre Métropolitain, and Yale Philharmonic. A top prizewinner at the Montreal International and USASU Bösendorfer Competitions, she also competed in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and was a finalist for the German Piano Award. Lindsay is an active chamber musician, having performed with artists including Ani Kavafian and Carter Brey. She is a member of the Bergonzi Piano Trio, whose debut album of Beethoven and Brahms was recently released, with a new Dvořák and Shostakovich recording due in 2024. Since 2018, she has been a collaborative pianist at the Steans Institute at the Ravinia Festival. A strong advocate for contemporary music, Lindsay premiered Carl Vine’s Piano Sonata No. 4 at her Carnegie Hall debut and released the album Aphorisms: Piano Music of Carl Vine. She has also performed works by Samuel Zyman, David Ludwig, and others. She holds degrees from Principia College, Yale, and the University of Miami, and resides in Jensen Beach, Florida.
