Make Music Chicago

When: June 21

Where: Citywide

Cost: Free

Unleash your inner musician and welcome in the summer solstice by joining in this day-long citywide music festive. Unlike a typical music festival, Make Music Chicago is open to anyone who wants to make music. Every kind of musician—young and old, amateur and professional—takes to the streets, parks, plazas, and porches of Chicago to share music of all genres and styles with their friends and neighbors. Make Music Chicago joins 800 cities in 120 countries in the world’s largest one-day DIY music event. Registration for performers and venues opens in April each year.

“Make Music Chicago is a gift to the city! And a reminder that ANYONE can make music! I look forward to collaborating with Make Music every year to bring music to the City’s parks. It’s an amazing way to connect with our communities.”

- Dayna Calderon, Program and Event Coordinator - Chicago Park District/Night Out in the Parks
