Violinist Claire Bourg has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician at prestigious venues across the United States and Europe, including Carnegie Hall, Chicago’s Orchestra Hall, the Kimmel Center, and venues in Bremen, Warsaw, and Brussels. Notable performances include Mozart’s First Violin Concerto with the Camerata Bern in Hannover and participation in the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels.

Claire has earned acclaim in competitions, winning the 2021 Luminarts Fellowship, winning second prize in the 2020 Barbash J.S. Bach Competition, and prevailing at the New England Conservatory Competition. She has also had success in numerous competitions such as the Joachim, Singapore and Kreisler International Violin Competitions.

A sought-after chamber musician, Claire has collaborated with distinguished artists like Mitsuko Uchida, Kim Kashkashian, and Jörg Widmann. She performs regularly with Musicians from Marlboro, Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, among others, and previously served as concertmaster of Symphony in C in Philadelphia.

Claire’s dedication to contemporary music is evident in her collaborations with composers such as Augusta Read Thomas, Bright Sheng, and Helmut Lachenmann. She holds degrees from the New England Conservatory, Curtis Institute of Music, and The Juilliard School, and is pursuing her Doctorate at the City University of New York’s Graduate Center. Her primary mentors include Miriam Fried, Pamela Frank, Arnold Steinhardt, Joseph Lin and Mark Steinberg. Claire performs on a violin crafted by Zosimo Bergonzi of Cremona, generously on loan through Guarneri Hall NFP and Darnton & Hersh Fine Violins, Chicago.

Hailed as “spine-tingling” (Fort Worth Star-Telegram) and “breathtaking” (Boston Musical Intelligencer), American pianist Kyle Orth possesses unusual virtuosity and artistic sensitivity. He has distinguished himself globally as a captivating soloist and chamber musician, passionately reviving lesser-known works while offering intriguing interpretations of pieces within the standard repertoire. The Dallas Morning News praised his complete musicianship for being “thoughtfully proportioned and detailed, with plenty of virtuosity when called for.”

An internationally recognized competitor, Dr. Orth holds over twenty first-place wins in local, national, and international music competitions. Triumphs include Grand Prize in the Friends of the Minnesota Orchestra Young Artist Competition, as well as First Prize in the Dallas International Piano Competition and Hellam Young Artists Competition. He received top prizes at the Corpus Christi International Piano Competition and Wideman International Competition, as well as the Audience Award at the finals of the Washington International Piano Competition.

As a chamber musician, Dr. Orth has studied and performed in prominent international festivals including the Perlman Music Program, the Ravinia Steans Music Institute, the Bowdoin International Music Festival, and the Pablo Casals Festival-Academie in France. He has regularly collaborated with artists from Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Concert Artist Guild, and others, including Donald Weilerstein, Jing Wang, Angelo Xiang Yu, and Rachel Lee Priday. He often appears as a violin-piano duo with his wife, Rachel Arcega Orth, who currently plays in the Boston Symphony.

Dr. Orth currently resides in Boston as a member of the Expanded Education piano faculty at New England Conservatory (NEC Prep and Adult Education), having formerly served on the piano faculty at Wheaton College Conservatory of Music in Wheaton, Illinois.
