A 2016 National YoungArts Winner, twenty-six-year-old pianist, Anastasiya Magamedova, was recently awarded 1st prize at the International Scriabin Competition in Paris and 2nd Prize at the International ArsClassica Competition. She began studying the piano at the age of 5 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan and is a graduate of the Juilliard School with Academic Honors, under the tutelage of Julian Martin and Matti Raekallio; she now continues her studies in Paris. Recent engagements have taken her to perform in the Theatre of Digital Arts of Dubai, Bridgewater Hall in Manchester and the Opera and Ballet State Theater of Tajikistan. Magamedova is passionate about performing and has soloed in halls such as Alice Tully Hall (NYC), Carnegie Hall’s Weill Concert Hall (NYC), Pierre Boulez Saal (Berlin) and Libby Gardner Hall (Salt Lake City, UT). She has also performed in Teatro del Pavone (Perugia, Italy) and Sala dei Notari (Perugia, Italy), soloing with the Alicante Philharmonic Orchestra. Winner of several concerto competitions, Magamedova has performed with the Utah Symphony in Abravanel Hall and several times with the American West Symphony.

A Gold medalist of the 2013 International Keyboard Odyssiad and Festival Piano Competition (Ft. Collins, CO), Magamedova was also a third prize winner of the 2015 IIYM International Piano Competition. First prize winner in the 2016 Utah State MTNA Piano Competition, she was also a winner of the 2015 SouthWest Regional MTNA Piano Competition Winner, leading to being named a 2015 MTNA National Finalist.

During her summers, she has enjoyed participating and performing in piano festivals such as Piano Texas International Piano Academy and Festival, Schleiswig-Holstein Festival Masterclasses, South Eastern Piano Festival, and International Institute for Young Musicians. Magamedova has had the opportunity to study chamber music and perform in concerts at the International Summer Academy Lüneburger Heide two years in a row, working closely with Troels Svane, and Wratislava Chamber Orchestra. As a chamber musician at Juilliard, she has had the opportunity to work with Joseph Kalichstein, Astrid Schween, Joel Sachs, and Audrey Axinn.

Anastasiya continues to play in a duo with cellist, Johannes Gray; together they are laureates of the Concours Europeen de Musique de Chambre and are artists in residence at the Scandinavian Cello School in Denmark. They often perform in the Paris region as part of the “Jeunes Talents” series. The duo has toured giving concerts across the US, Europe, and Central Asia and have been heard on Radio France Générations Le Live program.
