Q: Are tickets required for concerts?

A: Tickets are not required for the Dame Myra Hess or Rush Hour Concerts.

Q: How much does it cost to attend a concert?

A: All concerts are free.

Q: Where are the concerts located?

A: Dame Myra Hess Concerts take place at Seventeenth Church of Christ, Scientist, Chicago. It is located at 55 W. Wacker Place, Chicago.

Rush Hour Concerts are located at Holy Name Cathedral - 735 N State Street for the 2026 season.

Q: What time do doors open for concerts?

A: The doors at Seventeenth Church of Christ, Scientist, Chicago, open at 11:30 am for the 12:15 Hess Concert. Doors at Holy Name Cathedral open at 5:00 pm for the 5:45 Rush Hour Concerts.

Q:Are there pre-performance talks for all concerts?

A: There are pre-performance talks for all Rush Hour Concerts. The pre-concert talk begins at 5:15pm and all take place in the sanctuary.

Q: Is parking available for concerts?

A: Neither Seventeenth Church of Christ, Scientist, Chicago nor Holy Name Cathedral have on site parking available. However, there are several public parking garages located nearby both facilities.
Q: Can I film the concerts with my phone?

A: Photography and recording during a performance is strictly prohibited.

Q: Are all concerts just 45 minutes long?

A: Yes, typically the Dame Myra Hess Concerts and Rush Hour Concerts are 45 minutes in duration.

Q: Can I watch concerts online if I can't attend?

A: Video of the Dame Myra Hess Concerts and Rush Hour Concerts are available on the CMC website and the CMC YouTube channel.

Q: Can I sponsor a concert?

A: YES! Concerts are available for sponsorship at the $2,500 level. This is a wonderful way to honor a loved one or commemorate a special date, such as a birthday or anniversary.

Q: Can I bring food or beverages to the concerts?

A: Food and beverages are not allowed inside the auditorium of Seventeenth Church of Christ, Scientist or inside the sanctuary at Holy Name Cathedral. Audience members will be asked to dispose of any food or drink before entering the performance space.

Q: Are the concert locations accessible?

A: Yes, both Holy Name Cathedral and Seventeenth Church of Christ, Scientist, Chicago are ADA accessible.
