Mixed Media is an award-winning saxophone quartet based in Athens, Georgia. Formed in August of 2021, the quartet sets out to bring unique and innovative chamber music experiences to audiences. Mixed Media excites listeners with their bold interpretations and dramatized performances of stylistically diverse repertoire. The quartet aims to add a new dimension to traditional concerts. In addition, Mixed Media has a continuing mission of sharing music from composers of historically underrepresented backgrounds. Their most recent season of repertoire included works by Viet Cuong, David Salleras Quintana, Jennifer Higdon, Marcelo Zarvos, and more.

Mixed Media explores musical genres that are nontraditional to the classical chamber music medium. Performing in several outreach events throughout Texas, Georgia, and Indiana, the quartet pleased a variety of audiences with classic hits from R.E.M., Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, Billie Eilish, Ray Charles, Billy Strayhorn, and Duke Ellington.

Fresh off of a successful competition season, Mixed Media was awarded the gold medal at the 49th Annual Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and first prize at the 9th Annual Coltman Chamber Music Competition. They were also named national finalists in the Music Teachers National Association Chamber Wind Competition and semifinalists in the North American Saxophone Alliance Quartet Competition. Mixed Media features Michael Chapa on soprano saxophone, Julien Berger on alto saxophone, Lindsey Welp on tenor saxophone, and Grace Gelpi on baritone saxophone
